It’s so important when the government, NGOs and parliaments get together to help people of Egypt and establish initiatives made to empower people and give them quality of life.
It was announced recently by the President of Egypt, Abdel Fatah El Sisi, that he is going to launch a new initiative under the name of “A Decent Life” the main goal of that initiative is, to improve the quality of life for the people who need it and basically gives them a decent life, which is a basic human right for everyone.
It was estimated that more than 30 million Egyptians are living below the poverty line, that was estimated 2015 by The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics! The initiative is trying to change that and improve the living conditions for people. The initiative is mainly focused on governorates that have the highest poverty rates such as: Sohag, Luxor, Aswan, Qena, Assiut, Minya, Giza, the New Valley, Marsa Matrouh, North Sinai, Qalioubiya and Beheira.
All these governorates have a poverty rate of 70 percent and more. Thus why, the initiative will focus on them firsthand. In addition to that, the initiative will provide job opportunities, health care, clean water and sewage.
The initiative is also trying to include everyone to implement the idea, it is said that the Social Solidarity Minister, Ghada Wali, had a meeting with a few of the biggest NGOs, to be included in the project and offer their efforts, experiences and data. The initiative is a collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and its aim is to help 32 million people living in underprivileged conditions.
It was announced that the Decent Life initiative will cater to people with special needs, it will also construct 15 schools in each village and more. It’s great seeing governmental efforts being shifted towards the people in need in Egypt and we hope to see more.
