Mokattam Foundation for Development (‎مؤسسة جبل المقطم للتنمية الاجتماعية)

The Mokattam Foundation for Development is a Cairo-based non-profit organization registered under the Ministry of Social Solidarity which seeks to support the social, environmental, and economic development of residents of the Mokattam area. Led by a distinguished Board with extensive experience in development and social impact, the Foundation seeks to couple philanthropic donations with sustainable impact for the local community through adopting a needs-based and collaborative approach to intervention design. The Foundation has been at the forefront of immediate relief aid to the 15th May community as a result of the storm experienced by residents in March 2020, and is working on relocating residents, rebuilding destroyed homes, and supporting those whose homes and livelihoods have been impacted.

Global Shapers Giza Hub

The Giza Hub is a member of the Global Shapers Community – a network of young people driving dialogue, action, and change. Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional, and local challenges. Operating as a network of city-based Hubs spread out across 424 cities, Global Shapers design and implement projects across three impact areas – Education and Employment, Equity and Inclusion, Climate Change and the Environment. The Giza Hub, established in 2012, is partnering with the Mokattam Foundation as part of its commitment to leveraging resources for vulnerable populations impacted by climate inequity.
